I've passed by this place so many times over the years. I finally stopped by. Glad i did. Food is actually very good. I got the chicken Biryani, goat curry , peshwari naan, chicken curry and a pair of samosas. Goat curry was very tasty, one of the better ones that i have had over the years. The peshwari naan was ok, wish there was more fruits in it. The biryani and chicken curry were flavorful and the samosas were stuffed and really good. I'll definitely be back here, thinking about trying the Lunch buffet.
Wow oh wow. Find this on maps and can't get enough of their chicken tikka masala! So creamy and rich, I struggle not to go everyday. Need to go back and try something new!
came in for a sunday lunch and it was fairly busy but we were able to be seated immediately. ~Food~ + more dessert options than other indian buffets + fresh veggies + everything here is delicious -when it gets busy, the food goes by quickly and it takes a while for it to be replenished -long wait for naan bread/ other services my bf has been going here for years and he says the place is always consistent in terms of food quality. i will definitely be back ~Service: a bit slow because it was busy but friendly service ~Cost: $ affordable lunch buffet ~$17/pp ~Parking: free plaza parking
Doing some quick research online the chatter is that India Kitchen is one of the better Indian restaurants in Orange County. They have buffet only during lunch and dinner is a la carte. GARLIC NAAN ($3.49) - there was more garlic on this naan than I've seen in other Indian restaurants but I still thought it could've used more garlic. 4.5/5 CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA ($18.95) - their default spice is medium but we ordered it in mild which we thought was a good idea since it already had a bit of spice. The chicken was a little dryer probably because it was chicken breast, but the curry was good. 4/5 GOAT CURRY ($19.95) - some pieces of goat were tender but some were harder to eat because of the connective tissue. The sauce was not as creamy as the tikka masala but it was decent. 3.5/5 CHICKEN BIRYANI ($16.95) - I thought this dish could've used more portions of meat but the meat that was there was tender. This was a solid biryani. 4/5 MANGO LASSI ($4.95) - this was a full glass which we liked and it was good to cool some of the spices from all the dishes. 4.5/5 The food was filling and we had a good experience here.
Excellent buffet with chicken curry, goat curry, lentils, chicken masala, mushrooms masala, spinach paneer, desserts and salad. Pleasant service. Easy freeway access. Easy parking. They are the real deal.
Food We got lamb vindaloo, chicken tandoori, chicken Biryani and garlic naan. They were all very good. The chicken tandoori came with plenty of onions which I love, the green sauce that came with it was good but spicy. The biryani was very tasty.
TLDR: I'm here because of the "buffet to-go". It's under $20 and you can pack whatever you want in a to-go box and a small container w/ naan. Taste wise, it's pretty good and I'd definitely go back. Goat Chettinad: Very good. Get this when available Palak Paneer: Solid taste, and it compliments the naan and rice well. Chicken tikka masala: This is oddly the weakest thing of the bunch. The sauce was fine but the chicken was very dry. Grilled chicken: Best of the bunch. I don't know the proper name for this but it was by far the best thing I ate here. Service: Staff helped me quickly when I came in and rang me up quickly after I was ready. Ambiance: The place felt vintage. I haven't eaten inside so I don't have much to say.
Our favourite place for lunch buffet and takeaway. Lunch buffet is always fresh, hot and diverse. Always features palak paneer (I believe, they do it best of all places), tandoori chicken, lentil soup, rice options, chicken curry or masala, goat, different veggie dishes, desserts and condiments. Our takeaway is always the same: chicken makhani and palak paneer with garlic naan. They do it consistently delicious and super-flavourful! Thumbs up! Service is great, and the restaurant is neat and spacious.
Last night I was craving Indian food and decided to hop on Yelp, I found this gem. I dined by myself here and had a lovely solo dinner date. I was greeted by the manager I assume, my server was quiet, nice, attentive. They have a couple floors I believe for events and what appears to be a large buffet for lunch. I am gluten and dairy free right now so Indian food is always accommodating. I started with the lentil soup which was full of flavor and a bright yellow color from the turmeric, I enjoyed it. Not what I had in my mind- more of a broth like soup than a thicker consistency I expected when I read lentil. I ordered the plain white Burani rice and the chicken tandoori. The chicken tandoori is a dry dish, the chicken is prepared with yogurt and spices and cooked in a clay oven- it was the best I've ever had. The chicken comes sizzling on a platter with onions, peppers and lemons, there's an accompanying green spicy sauce I really loved. I devoured the whole chicken plate, the chicken was so juicy, moist, tender and worth going back for alone. I wish I could have partaked in the bread! I was beyond jealous of the table seated behind me with fresh garlic naan, highly recommend ordering bread here (made fresh) I will Return to try more dishes, all of the curry dishes look amazing! The chicken tandoori was done so perfectly, the rice was just right and the soup were all great. The restaurant is clean, has Indian music playing on the tv and a very welcoming, warm atmosphere. Checkin on here for 10% off your bill. I can't wait to come back! Large parking lot too!
Great price (17.95) and value for the all you can eat buffet! Even on weekends! There's a bunch of dishes (chicken, lamb, cauliflower, beans, curries, salad) you can self serve, and don't forget to ask the server for fresh naan. The thin, flakey naan is sooo good, served freshly hot! My favorites were the goat, cauliflower, and mushroom curry! Dipping the naan in those sauces was amazing!
